Two charged with robbery at Durham stained glass store

Durham police investigators are searching for two men who robbed the Carolina Stained Glass store and tied up two employees on Thursday.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police reported on Friday that two men had been arrested in connection with the robbery last month at Carolina Stained Glass.

According to police, 39-year-old James Staton and 49-year-old Willie Kearney, used duct tape to restrain a 59-year-old and a 76-year-old inside the store before taking cash and other items from the store and from the victims.

Both men were arrested on Thursday and face charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping and felony conspiracy. Staton was also charged with one count of simple assault. Both men were being held in Durham County Jail under $500,000 bonds.
