Durham, N.C. — The Durham Police Department is conducting an internal investigation into whether an officer cheated on a test for a promotion, Chief Jose Lopez said Thursday.
Officials have no indication other officers were involved in any cheating, Lopez said.
The unidentified officer wasn't promoted after taking the exam, he said.
Disciplinary action could be taken against the officer if the allegation is confirmed, including termination, he said.
