Durham police officers injured during early morning arrest

Two Durham police officers received minor injuries while making an arrest early Friday morning.

DURHAM, N.C. — Two Durham police officers received minor injuries while making an arrest early Friday morning.

A department spokeswoman said the officers responded to a vehicle break-in on White Pine Drive around 4 a.m. and found they a man inside the vehicle.

Dexter Pride, 17, was charged with three counts of felony breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, three counts of larceny and two counts of felony assault on a law enforcement officer. 

One officer sustained a sprained shoulder, and the other received cuts to the face.

The officers were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital.
