Phyxius1 - It gets back to that Durham does have a much higher crime rate than surrounding counties.

As a resident you can vote in elections; you need to vote in people who will properly handle Durham's crime problem. You can be part of changing the perception of Durham.

Just waiting for you to prove the fact that most crimes are committed by people from Durham in other counties. Show me the links and not just one but numerous as you state...I`m not denying it but the path goes both ways...Look it up and not just the Durham connections...
Read my post again as I didn't say Durham didn't have a crime rate but others are getting just as bad now.I read the news and see all the counties involved and not just scan Durham stories to bash.
People are SO quick to point out Durham crime but try and hide the crime in their own back yard...They are so quick to bash Durham but see no compassion in the death or ?? of the people and families involved in the article. I myself as a resident of Durham and friend have only had acts of crime against us in Raleigh NOT Durham
If you are SO worried about the crime in Durham and the bashing of it I ask what do you do to help and cure the problem??? Bashing a county on here does nothing to help crime anywhere..

Phyxius1 - Are you denying the Durham's crime rate is MUCH higher than the other counties in the RTP area?

Are you denying that the criminals found committing crimes in other local counties are often found to reside in Durham when arrested?

Those that have a gun illegally should be locked up automatically for 10 years. That is the first thing they grab for a loaded gun when things don't go their way. Then seconds later they are wishing it did not happen.

This - of course - keeps in mind that the suspects in many cases outside Durham County are from Durham County - The Eve Carson murder case is a good example.

Really many crimes committed in other counties are now people from Durham..?? Can you prove that on the many crimes you mention?? Any proof Durham crimes are not people from other counties also?? Lived in Durham over 25 yrs and never been involved in or witnessed any crime. Have had car broken into twice in Raleigh and good friend robbed by gunpoint near Raleigh convention center in last 5 yrs.
Check these stats out for last week just in Raleigh and Wake and see not so crime free as all assume. Not saying by any means Durham doesn't have its issues but others counties are getting just as bad. Its a shame any of them are like that at all. Just hate seeing how fast people bash Durham when crime is everywhere lately

"After a week full of Raleigh and Wake shootings and rapes dominating the pages we finally see a Durham headline again....Sorry for the loss to the members of his family which all the Durham haters seem to forget at every chance to bash." -Phyxius1

Can you point to examples of shootings and rapes in Raleigh or Wake in the last week. I see Cumberland County, Orange County, and Guilford County. Nope - Not seeing any stories of rapes and murders in Wake County.

This - of course - keeps in mind that the suspects in many cases outside Durham County are from Durham County - The Eve Carson murder case is a good example.

After it's all said and done, i'm sure it will be the same ole storyline with the same cast of characters involved. Some things never change in the Bull City.

After a week full of Raleigh and Wake shootings and rapes dominating the pages we finally see a Durham headline again....Sorry for the loss to the members of his family which all the Durham haters seem to forget at every chance to bash. A life was lost and it shouldn't matter what county it was in..
