Durham police on Monday were investigating the death of a 4-month-old child.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police on Monday were investigating the death of a 4-month-old child.

Officers and paramedics responded to a call shortly before 9:30 a.m. regarding an infant not breathing at 5804 Tattersall Drive, police said.

The infant was pronounced dead at the scene, and the body was sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, police said.

Police are handling the case as a death investigation.
