— No one was hurt when a Durham police car and a box truck collided Friday morning.

Durham police said an officer was driving to a burglary call about 11:30 a.m. and had the lights and siren activated on the marked patrol car. The car and a box truck collided on Angier Avenue near Pleasant Drive.

The impact caused the patrol car to strike a tree, a ditch, a speed limit sign and a fire hydrant. The car was heavily damaged, police said.

More information will be released when it becomes available.

I guess by saying they had their lights and siren on, they want to blame the driver who had the green light?
