Durham police arrest two teens in connection with January shooting
Two Durham teens wanted in connection with a Jan. 23 shooting were arrested Tuesday after a brief foot chase on Cook Road, police said.
Posted — UpdatedDemarkee Midgette, 16, of Cathy Drive, is charged with conspiracy to commit an assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and possession of a handgun by a minor.
Richardson was in the Durham County jail Wednesday under a $75,000 bond. Midgette's bond was $50,000.
According to investigators, Richardson, Midgette and 17-year-old Richard Tiberious "R.T." Bonaparte got into an argument with a 16-year-old outside a home in the 700 block of Elizabeth Street Jan. 23 before shooting him in the leg.
Police are still searching for Bonaparte. A 15-year-old juvenile was also charged with conspiracy. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
