<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — A 22-year-old Durham woman was arrested and charged Tuesday with murder in the May 2014 death of her 15-month-old daughter, Durham police said.

Melanie Lashay Battle was arrested in Halifax County. She was held in the Halifax County jail Tuesday under no bond.

Battle is accused of killing her daughter, Tameya Rodgers. A medical examiner’s report determined the child died as a result of blunt force trauma, police said.
