DURHAM, N.C. — A man was stabbed to death Tuesday morning in eastern Durham and his brother-in-law has been charged with his murder, police said.

Officers were dispatched to a disturbance call at 8 Birds Nest Court at 10:31 a.m. Upon arrival, they found a man, later identified as Michael James Copeland, with knife-inflicted wounds. Copeland, 34, of Durham, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers were provided a description of a suspect and spotted a man matching that description about 30 minutes later near the intersection of Freeman and Clayton roads.

Officers are still investigating a motive for the fatal stabbing, and said Langley was the victim's brother-in-law.
