DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were searching early Tuesday for a man wanted in connection with a shooting death in the Parkwood community around 7 p.m. Monday.

Officers found Jose Fernando Garcia, 47, dead at a home at 1444 Sedwick Road when they responded to a call about a shooting.

Christopher Herrera Posada, 20, has been charged with murder in the shooting. He is the son of Garcia's girlfriend and lives at the home.

Police say Posada may be driving a gray Honda Civic.

Authorities closed Sedwick Drive for more than four hours while investigating the incident.

Neighbors told WRAL News that everything was quiet and that they never heard any suspicious noises before police cars lined the streets with lights flashing just after 7 p.m.

Anyone with information on Posada's whereabouts is asked to call Investigator Rogers at 919-560-4440, extension 29336, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
