DURHAM, N.C. — A jury convicted a Durham man Wednesday of second-degree murder in a fatal drunken driving crash two years ago.

Darryl Brooks, 43, was sentenced to 27 to 35 years in prison.

Brooks rear-ended a car driven by 53-year-old Kelwin Biggs on Fayetteville Road in March 2015, and Biggs' car then collided head-on with another vehicle.

Authorities said Brooks was drunk at the time, and he had a previous impaired driving conviction.
