DURHAM, N.C. — Police said Wednesday that they are searching for a Durham man suspected of snatching packages off at least two porches in recent weeks.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Tyrell Levar Dillard, 29, charging him with two counts of misdemeanor larceny in connection with a Dec. 26 theft on Spring Meadow Drive and an incident two days later on Stratford Lakes Drive.

Pamela McAllister said her home security system recorded the theft of her daughter's Christmas present from outside the front door of her Stratford Lakes Drive home. The family was on a Christmas cruise at the time.

"He strolled up the steps like he lived here and grabbed it," McAllister recently told WRAL News.

Durham police said have responded to reports of at least eight package thefts in the neighborhood since November.
