DURHAM, N.C. — A developer planning a downtown Durham skyscraper welcomed the public to Carrack Modern Art Tuesday night for a sneak preview.

Austin Lawrence Partners, led by Duke University graduate Greg Hills, purchased the vacant former F.W. Woolworth site at Main and Parrish streets in November 2012. The group plans a multi-use high-rise with retail, office space and 21 floors of apartments. At 26 stories, the building would be the tallest in the Durham skyline.
