DURHAM, N.C. — Surveillance cameras could soon be used to reduce crime in Durham.

Some city leaders want to invest in a remote camera system that concentrates on areas with high crime.

The pilot project would last six months and cost just over $16,000.

The cameras are scheduled to be discussed during the City Council meeting on Sept. 17.
