Durham Bulls' base-running mascot reunited with owner
Deuce, one of the Durham Bulls' canine mascots that run victory laps the bases at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park after a win, was found safe Wednesday morning and has been reunited with his owner.

The 1-year-old border collie was found around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday wandering the wood line in a field near Carroll Street and Lakewood Avenue, about a mile from the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
James Lee Pryor, who found Deuce, said he recognized the dog from TV and contacted Durham County Animal Services, who reunited the animal with owner Gene Lonsway.
"Deuce seems to be happy and healthy. In fact, he seems totally unfazed by his three days away from home," Lonsway wrote on his Facebook page.
Lonsway said he was loading Deuce and his brother, Ace, into a van Saturday night at the ballpark when the fireworks spooked the dogs. Lonsway was able to get Ace into the van but Deuce ran.
"When I saw that dog, I actually sat on the floor," he said Wednesday afternoon. "I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I don't usually get faint."
Scott Carter, director of marketing for the Durham Bulls Baseball Club, said that Deuce will be at Friday's game.
"We will officially welcome him home, and he and his brother will run the bases post-game, win or lose," Carter said.
