Duke student apartment broken into

A man broke into an unlocked student apartment on Duke University's Central Campus around 4 a.m. Thursday, campus police said.

DURHAM, N.C. — A man broke into an unlocked student apartment on Duke University's Central Campus around 4 a.m. Thursday, campus police said.

When the man saw the student, he left, police said. The student was uninjured, and nothing was taken from the apartment.

Police described the man as 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a thin build and short hair. He was wearing jeans, a T-shirt and gloves. His race was unknown.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Duke police at 919-684-2444.
