Why is this a headline story?

  • Joe Schmoe May 12, 2011

Wow, love this hard-hitting, edgy journalism.

C'mon, WRAL. You can do better than this, can't you?

    1. How exactly does one break into an "unlocked apartment"?

    2. How is this news when in other instances, children are being raped and murdered, adults are robbing banks, world leaders are slaughtering their own people in the streets, millions upon millions of people throughout the world are unemployed while their country leaders toy with their lives in political tugs of war, etc. etc.

Boggles the mind what some think is news.

Why is this news? A friend of mine's house was broken into about three weeks ago in Knightdale she actually got robbed of her electronics, etc. This guy didn't even get robbed. Her break in didn't rate a article and this one did. What?

WRAL really frames Durham as the WORST place on the face of the planet.

I love the description 5'9, short hair, thin build, unknown race. Be on the lookout for about 2 billion men on Earth.

Nice to see WRAL is up on things in Durham; wish other place in the Triangle got that kind of coverage.

It's a shame his death didn't make it to this blog, but these issues also happen at and around NC State, and it is next door to WRAL, and their crimes in Raleigh never seem to make it to this site either. Did such a minor incident make it because it's in Durham, or because it was a Duke student? They will walk over a dead body in Raleigh, to report jay walking in Durham.

Umm this happens like 100 times a day in Durham, but of course, it was a Duke student, so let's put it on WRAL. My father-in-law was found dead in a ditch behind Costco last year and it didn't even make it to a blurb on this site.

You don't have to break anything to break in - entering without permission is breaking the "seal". But stupid is as stupid does. It is evident every day here in the comments and in criminal behavior.
