Duke grad student dies after car wreck

DURHAM, N.C. — A Duke University graduate student was killed after an automobile wreck on Wednesday, university officials said.

Ryan Paul Exline, 22, of Russell, Penn., was a first-year student at Duke’s Nicholas School of Environment, officials said in a release. He was pursuing a master of environmental management degree in ecosystem science and conservation.

No information was available about the wreck or where it occurred, Duke’s Director of Media Relations Keith Lawrence said Friday.

A memorial service will be held at the Nicholas School in January following winter break.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wiltsie Community Church Building Fund, 65 Swede Hill Road, Russell, Pa. 16345, or the Jamestown Audubon Society, 1600 Riverside Road, Jamestown, N.Y. 14701.
