Goldsboro, N.C. — A Dudley man was arrested Monday and charged with murder after another man was shot during a confrontation in a yard on Bryan Boulevard.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office charged Matthew Craig Moyers, 24, of 103 Southwinds Drive, with murder after authorities say he shot Joshua Omar Forbes on July 23. Forbes died on the way to the hospital. He was 25 years old.
Authorities said Forbes went to the residence on Bryan Drive in the Mar Mac community where he and Moyers got into an altercation. After he was shot, Forbes went back to the car he arrived in and left the scene.
Forbes was pronounced dead at a business located on U.S. Highway 117 South where the vehicle stopped to get help.
