FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A local man was arrested Monday after authorities said he tried to bring marijuana into the Cumberland County Courthouse.

Shawn Edward Fisher, 21, of 427 Durant Drive, was arrested after setting off a metal detector at a main entrance security checkpoint in the courthouse. Deputies asked Fisher to lift his pants legs, and they found five containers of marijuana stuffed inside his socks, authorities said.

Fisher was scheduled to appear in court on a child custody matter at the time of his arrest, authorities said.

He has been charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $19,000 secured bond.
