RALEIGH, N.C. — The state Highway Patrol is targeting drivers who ignore the red stop-arms on school buses.

Troopers will patrol school zones every morning and afternoon through Friday as part of "Operation Stop Arm," authorities said. Other troopers will follow buses in marked and unmarked cruisers to ensure drivers don't try to pass stopped buses.
