— A driver crashed into a house on Weiss Avenue around 8:10 a.m. Tuesday causing a gas leak from the home, according to police.

The driver, Steve David, 58, of Holbrook Lane, was traveling on Robeson Street when he turned left onto Weiss Avenue and blacked out, causing his vehicle to strike the back corner of the house, police said.

As a result of the wreck, a natural gas line was ruptured. Police and fire units evacuated the immediate area until Piedmont Natural Gas arrived on scene to repair the gas line.

Charles Williamson, 59, was home at the time, but was in a different part of the house when the wreck occurred.

No injuries were reported.

Doctors are very limited in being able to medically recommended someone's license be restricted. Pretty much they have to subject the person to an EEG and look for evidence of epilepsy. Speaking from personal experience here. :^)

"The driver...suffers from a medical condition which causes him to black out"

He should not have a license!!!

Why is he still allowed to drive? This was bad enough, but what if he hit a person? Ridiculous!!
