Friday is now a WRAL Weather Alert Day. Parts of Hoke, Cumberland and Sampson counties are under a level 2 risk for storms Friday afternoon and evening. The biggest threat will be damaging winds and heavy rain, but an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in our southern counties. The storms are expected to impact these areas from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — Make plans now to attend one (or two, or three, or seven!) of the 24 restaurants participating in Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week Aug. 21-27.

Participating restaurants include everything from drop-in cafes to luxurious dining experiences and restaurants offering delicious cuisine from around the world. Many brand-new restaurants have joined the line-up this year amid downtown Raleigh's recent restaurant boom.

You can view a list of all <strong><a href="https://www.wral.com/entertainment/out_and_about/asset_gallery/11345201/">participating restaurants</a> </strong>here.

Lunch menus will feature specials at either $5 or $10, and three-course prix fixe dinners are $21 or $31. These prices do not include tax, tip or beverages.

New in 2017, $1 from each Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week dinner sold will be donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
