DOT shifts traffic on I-85 in Vance County

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will shift traffic on Interstate 85 between mile markers 206 and 214 in Vance County near Henderson from April 22 until November.

HENDERSON, N.C. — The North Carolina Department of Transportation will shift traffic on Interstate 85 between mile markers 206 and 214 in Vance County near Henderson from April 22 until November.

Motorists traveling on I-85 south will be shifted to the northbound lanes in a two-lane, two-way pattern separated by concrete barriers. The shift is necessary while crews continue paving operations on the southbound lanes as part of an ongoing I-85 rehabilitation project, the DOT said.

The on-ramp from Dabney Drive to I-85 south will also be closed until November. Motorists traveling on Dabney Drive needing to access I-85 south should use the following signed detour:

Dabney Drive to U.S. 158 west to Ruin Creek Road to I-85 south.

In addition, the on-ramp from U.S. 158 to I-85 north will be closed until July 23. Motorists traveling on U.S. 158 needing to access I-85 north should use the following signed detour:

U.S. 158 to Ruin Creek Road to I-85 north.
