Donor leaves gift cards for Fayetteville police

Posted May 24, 2011

— Fayetteville police say they received $2,000 worth of gift cards from an anonymous donor.

Police said a woman walked into the department Monday with 400 gift cards, enough to give one to each officer, for restaurants such as Bojangles' and Chick-fil-A. Each card is worth $5.

The woman also left a letter saying, "Thank you for serving in a noble profession."

Isnt it great that someone did something nice for a change and WRAL reported it because thet sure dont like to post positive stories. They sure wont about the good some Tow companies do. They sure like the negative in EVERY story.

That kindness will go a long way in making an officer's day. It really is the little things that are remembered most fondly.

Too often the officers are forgotten when any appreciation is handed out unless something goes wrong.

I grew up in Fayetteville and it's not any worse or better than any other city. Crime unfortunately is everywhere.

We always hear the bad news. I love hearing good news like this. Way to go FPD!
