Disruptive passenger diverts plane to RDU

An American Airlines flight bound for Miami from New York's JFK airport stopped briefly in the Triangle Thursday night after a female passenger created a disturbance, an airport spokesman said.

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — An American Airlines flight bound for Miami from New York's JFK airport stopped briefly in the Triangle Thursday night after a female passenger created a disturbance, an airport spokesman said.

The passenger was removed from the plane and was being questioned by authorities. Her name was not released.

No one was hurt, and the flight was back in the air after the quick stop.
