Disgruntled Butner employee points gun at supervisor; no shots fired

Authorities in Butner are investigating after an alleged disgruntled employee pointed a gun at his supervisor Thursday afternoon at 201 Industrial Drive.

BUTNER, N.C. — Authorities in Butner are investigating after an alleged disgruntled employee pointed a gun at his supervisor Thursday afternoon at 201 Industrial Drive.

Just after 2 p.m., officers responded to Axis Corrugated Container in reference to a call about an employee with a gun. A supervisor at the facility said he was assaulted by an employee who had been terminated.

The supervisor told authorities that before the employee left the parking lot, he pointed a handgun at him. No shots were fired.

The disgruntled employee left the scene before officer arrived. Charges are pending, authorities said.
