Deputies: NC man fired rifle in the direction of his grandmother

A grandson has been charged with felony assault following an argument with his grandmother, according to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office.

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A grandson has been charged with felony assault following an argument with his grandmother, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded on Monday to a home on Clapp Mill Road in Burlington after a report of an assault.

According to deputies, Noah Church, 19, was seen "actively assaulting his grandmother."

Deputies stopped the assault, but the grandmother had minor injuries.

An investigation revealed Church fired a single shot from a rifle in the direction of his grandmother. No one was hit.

Church was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center. He faces charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun and misdemeanor assault on a female.
