WENDELL, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Thursday brawl at East Wake High School and trying to calm the nerves of hundreds of parents and students worried about safety at the school.

Deputies have cell phone video from several sources of a rolling fight near the trophy case inside the school. In the video, an individual can be seen being thrown to the ground, pinned and punched in the head.

About halfway through a 50-second video sent to WRAL News, an adult appears and moves some of the combatants away.

The fight resumes in another direction, and a boy is seen taking off his shirt and backing away as a crowd surrounds him.

Authorities said two people who are not students entered the campus and started a fight.

That concerns Sharon Sanders, who was one of those who allowed her child to come home early Friday after she was unimpressed with school security.

"If you've got kids who can just walk in off the street and start a fight, then there's a problem there that needs to be addressed," Sanders said. "Anybody could have walked into school this morning. Anybody could have carried anything in their bag."

One person, 20-year-old Tremaine Deshon Jones, of 4031 Northstone Drive in Raleigh, was arrested and charged with trespassing. An injury suffered in the fight is visible in his mug shot.

School officials said classes were held as normal Friday, and administrators were working with the sheriff's office and Wake County Public School System security to investigate the causes of the fight.
