HOPE MILLS, N.C. — A 19-year-old from Hope Mills was charged early Friday after authorities say he used a Ford F-150 to damage athletic fields at South View High School.

According to investigators, Greg Alan Beckman used his truck to push open a gate at the school. The truck damaged fencing and fence posts, and Beckman also did doughnuts on the school's football and soccer fields, according to the deputy that was patrolling school property.

Beckman is charged with damage to real property and trespassing.

Beckman was being held in the Cumberland County jail Friday under a $1,000 secured bond.
