Cumberland County considers closing three schools

— Three schools could be on the chopping block in Cumberland County.

School leaders are looking into other options for students at Hillsboro Street Elementary, Mae Rudd Williams, and Ramsey Street High.

Hillsboro and Williams both serve disabled children.

Ramsey Street is an alternative school.

No final decisions have been made.

    Can handicapped students goto a regular school under the American's with Disabilities Act? Can problem students not be kicked out of school since they can not, or will not, be with the regular population of students? Afterwards, turn the three campuses into regular schools to alleviate overcrowding of the rest of the schools.
