Fayetteville Goodyear plant avoids serious damage from fire

No serious damage was reported Saturday after a fire erupted at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — No serious damage was reported Saturday after a fire erupted at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. 

Crews arrived at the plant shortly after 5 p.m. but did not release any information about the cause of the blaze. No employees were injured, union president Darryl Jackson told WRAL. 

Employees were allowed back into the building to continue working less than two hours after the fire started. 

No other information was immediately available.
