Crews battle two-acre fire in Wake Forest

— Fire crews were battling a two-acre forest fire off Oak Avenue near Harris Road in Wake Forest on Saturday night, officials said.

According to officials, the fire started as a brush fire.

While evacuation was not mandatory, police were encouraging those who live east of Harris Road to consider leaving.

Officials opened the ground floor of the Wake Forest Town Hall to those seeking shelter. No additional information was available.
