Johnston County brush fire under control

Firefighters were battling a large brush fire off of New Bethel Road in Johnston County on Thursday evening, officials said.

— After a few hours, a large brush fire was under control Thursday in Johnston County, officials said. 

According to officials, the fast-moving fire, which was located near Highway 70 and Interstate 40, broke out Thursday afternoon. 

Several structures were threatened, officials said. 

No additional information about the fire was immediately available.

    No, in Durham, they just shoot each other. I will be really surprised if one day on the TV news they say "Nobody was shot in Durham today".

    Do you think a majority of people out there have the understanding of Dew point, dry air, and wind would have to do with fires? I totally understand your comment, but am pretty sure 90% out there don't even know what dew point is...
