Crab-leg heist lands two in Vance jail

Police on Tuesday charged a Henderson couple with stealing a seafood feast worth of crab legs from a local Walmart.

HENDERSON, N.C. — Police on Tuesday charged a Henderson couple with stealing a seafood feast worth of crab legs from a local Walmart.

Nakia Pernell, 48, and Felicia Marie Bunton, 31, both of 48 Allison Cooper Road, were each charged with two counts of felony removal of anti-theft devices. Their bonds were set at $20,000.

Henderson police said the couple stole a laptop computer and power adapter from the Walmart at 200 N. Cooper Drive on July 13. They then returned to the store on Tuesday and were caught stealing $264 in food, including 10 bundles of king crab legs, police said.
