Construction workers removed from Holly Springs job site after gas leak

Emergency crews evacuated some construction workers Monday after a gas leak at a shopping center in Holly Springs.

Town officials said crews struck an underground gas line at Holly Springs Towne Center, at 1104 New Hill Road, at about noon.

Crews were in the process of fixing the leak, but it wasn't clear when workers would be allowed back on the site.

The shopping center was not evacuated, officials said.
