Construction workers injured at Granville school site

The men fell about 25 to 30 feet from scaffolding while working on a school on Philo White Road near N.C. Highway 96 in the Wilton community, authorities said. It was unclear whether the scaffolding collapsed or the men simply fell off.

WILTON, N.C. — Three construction workers were injured Wednesday at the site of a new school in Granville County, authorities said Thursday.

The men fell about 25 to 30 feet from scaffolding while working on a school on Philo White Road near N.C. Highway 96 in the Wilton community, authorities said. It was unclear whether the scaffolding collapsed or the men simply fell off.

The state Department of Labor was investigating the case Thursday.

The workers, whose names weren't released, were taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment. Their conditions were unknown.
