Clayton man charged with child abuse against 4-month-old
Chenault Lamont Moore of 1409 Tulip Street was charged with child abuse inflicting serious physical injury. He was being held at the Johnston County Detention Center under $50,000 secured bond.
Posted — UpdatedA Clayton man was arrested and charged with felony child abuse on Tuesday in connection to an incident that occurred on New Year’s Eve.
Authorities said that officers with the Clayton police responded to the children’s emergency department at WakeMed at 9:40 p.m. on Dec. 31 in reference to a 4-month-old boy with skeletal injuries.
Investigators determined that the boy had been injured at 1409 Tulip Street and that the injuries were not accidental.

The child was transferred to Johnston Health Clayton and was expected to be released from the hospital later in the week.
