CLAYTON, N.C. — A Clayton man pleaded guilty Thursday to a federal charge of receipt of child pornography.

Prosecutors said that Steven Schriefels, 37, had 600 images and 23 videos of child pornography on his home computer.

Schriefels first came to the attention of the U.S. Secret Service in April 2009 for allegedly making threats against the President Barack Obama, prosecutors said. No evidence of the threats was found, but the investigation led to the discovery of the child porn.
