FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Village Christian Academy in Fayetteville wants an investigation into possible recruiting violations.

The school has reported itself to the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association after two foreign students showed up at the school, expecting to enroll and play basketball.

Lawyers for one of the students claim he had been given an acceptance letter to the academy.

School officials said the students didn’t complete an application and weren’t formally accepted by the school.
