Children say person dressed as clown tried to lure them into Winston-Salem woods

Posted September 5, 2016

— Two children told investigators that a person dressed as a clown tried to lure them into the woods by offering them treats Sunday evening, according to the Winson-Salem Police Department.

Officers responded to the 1200 block of E. 29th Street at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday to conduct a security check. During the investigation, officers learned that the person dressed as a clown had been seen by two children and heard, but not seen, by one adult. The subject ran from the scene when officers arrived.

A second sighting was reported at about 12:20 a.m. Monday morning in the 1600 block of Hope Lake, but again, attempts to find the person were unsuccessful.

The person was described as wearing a clown costume with white overalls, white gloves, red shoes with red bushy hair, a white face and a red nose.

The reports in Winston-Salem come about a week after multiple people reported seeing a person dressed as a clown attempting to lure into the woods in South Carolina.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department at 336-773-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 336-717-2800.

I'm sure you will take a pass when it's time for you to receive Social Secuity which now is considered an entitlement.

This sort of reminds me of the Washington establishment, come with me children (voters), I'll give you some treats, (entitlements). What could possibly go wrong!
