RALEIGH, N.C. — There is a good mix of music genres from locally known and nationally acclaimed artists this week – here are our picks.

Tuesday:

Passion Pit, Cults at Koka Booth – Electronic pop
The Whigs, Deap Vally at Local 506 – Alternative country with indie pop/rock
Sea Wolf, Savoir Adore, Polina Kourakina at The Pour House – Indie folk from Los Angeles
Gold Bears, Small Reactions, Gray Young  at The Pinhook – Fun pop/rock, named after delicious gummy bears

Wednesday:

Dawes, Shovels and Rope at Cat's Cradle – Americana influenced by soul
Jeanne Jolly has always been musical. She played piano and harmonica as a child and later took the stage at a Carolina Mudcats game to sing the National Anthem. But when her mother died of ovarian cancer, she picked up the guitar and turned her mourning into music.
Wild Nothing, Twin Tigers, The Human Eyes at Local 506 – Shoegaze synth-pop

Thursday:

Lumineers, Cold War Kids, J Roddy Walston and the Business at Koka Booth – The show is sold out, but grab tickets if you can find them!
Boabab, Cat Martino, Nettles at The Pinhook – Piano, guitar and synth combined into a unique experience
Rebekah Todd, Sinners and Saints, The Ramblin Fevers at Slim's – From Benson, currently based in Raleigh, with a sound like Grace Potter and The Nocturnals
Gross Ghost performs Thursday night at The Berkeley Cafe during Hopscotch.

Friday:

Forgetter, Blake Schwartzenbach, Ben Davis and the Jetts, JKutchma at Local 506 – Expect "singing songs, spittin', mixing, and plain old storytelling"
Mac Demarco, Lonnie Walker, Gross Ghost at Kings Barcade – Whimsical, dreamy pop
Spider Bags, Fleshwounds at The Pinhook – Garage band/alternative rock
Say Anything, Eisley, HRVRD, Norther Faces at Cat's Cradle – A band proud of their odd indie rock
Lonnie Walker performs Friday afternoon outside The Contemporary Art Museum.
Jeanne Jolly, Brett Harris at Lincoln Theatre – Beautifully melodic and lyrical Americana tunes
Rebekah Todd, Sinners and Saints, The Ramblin Fevers at The Cave – From Benson, currently based in Raleigh, with a sound like Grace Potter and The Nocturnals
The Kickin' Grass Band, Swift Creek at The Pour House – Bluegrass/Americana

Saturday:

Erin McDermott Band at Sertoma Amphitheatre, Bond Park – This is a FREE show of southern music
Chatham County Line at Cat's Cradle – Traditional bluegrass
Lilac Shadows, Evangelicals, Companion, Jenny Besetzt at Kings Barcade – Psych-y rock
Driver, John Henry at Berkeley Cafe – Powerful rock n' roll

Sunday:

The Lumineers opened for Dave Matthews Band.
LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, De La Soul, 9th Wonder, DJ Chuck Chillout at DPAC – A great hip-hop experience
Twin Shadow, Elliphant at Cat's Cradle – Synthpop/New Wave
