— Travel + Leisure knows a lot about America, or at least about how Americans perceive themselves and their neighbors.

So it might come as a shock that the Queen City, known for Uptown, banking and the NFL Panthers – including quarterback Cam Newton's, um, unique sense of style – was voted among the least attractive in the nation.

Those surveyed noted Charlotte's natural beauty and cleanliness, but, the magazine wrote, "Somehow, that didn't boost their attractive score."

Charlotte also lost out on Southern charm. The city ranked No. 14 on Travel + Leisure's Rudest Cities.

Lol who even does this mess? I would like to see who does the rankings.

This is hilarious though. Charlotte is garbage.

I'm not at all surprised especially after the RIOTS that occurred there.

Charlotte has a huge gang and crime problem to boot

Two words... Franklin Graham. But what is uglier, the face or the bigotry?

Almost can't call Washington DC a city. It is more like someplace that has been roped off from the normal world and allowed to evolve on a different clock than everywhere else. DC is a mix of every kind in the world, and throw in rich politicians and government officials, and the ripple effect of that, and you have Washington. Thankfully, there is nothing else or nowhere else like it that I've ever seen in this world. Too bad we can't pick it up and move it somewhere else away from Virginia, and away from normal life.

Not sure how this can be. Have these people ever been to DC. It's like the walking dead up there.
