Charges pending in Harnett County wreck that injured 11
State troopers said Tuesday that they plan to charge the driver of a van carrying six people that caused a three-car wreck on N.C. Highway 55 near Angier Monday night, sending 11 people to the hospital.
Posted — UpdatedAlejandro Salas, of Coats, was driving with three adult passengers, a 2-year-old child and an infant, when he approached a stopped car waiting to turn near Eason Lane. He swerved to avoid hitting the car, troopers said, but darted instead into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Chevy Impala, driven by Karen Termeer, of Fuquay-Varina.
After that crash, the van was in the road with no lights on and was struck by a Jeep, driven by Damon Davenport of Angier.
The six people in the van, three people in the Chevy and two people in the Jeep were all hospitalized, but none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, troopers said.
