Charge filed in car-bus crash

The driver who crashed into a school bus in Wake Forest was charged Tuesday with failure to reduce speed, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The driver who crashed into a school bus in Wake Forest was charged Tuesday with failure to reduce speed, police said.

Timothy Burnett ran into the bus while it was stopped on South Main Street at Selsey Drive, according to Wake County Public Schools officials.

Four high school students and a bus driver were taken to WakeMed as a precaution, school officials said.

Bus No. 1155 was taking 21 students to Wake Forest-Rolesville High School at the time.
