RALEIGH, N.C. — Police filed a voluntary manslaughter charge Thursday in connection with the death of a Raleigh man last summer.

Paramedics found Bobby Lee Dunn, 50, injured on Idlewild Avenue on June 29 and took him to WakeMed, where he was treated for head injuries and released, police said.

Dunn returned to the hospital on July 10 complaining of health problems, and he died later that day.

Investigators determined that Dunn had been involved in an altercation with Elden Beril Perry on June 29, and decided to charge Perry in Dunn's death after reviewing an autopsy report that established a link between the injuries Dunn suffered in the fight and his death.

Perry, 42, was already in the Wake County jail on unrelated charges.
