CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Chapel Hill police evacuated University Mall Monday afternoon after someone found a note in a men's bathroom about a bomb.

Police were reportedly using dogs to sweep both the inside and outside of the mall, at 201 S. Estes Drive, and police cars were lined along the building's perimeter. The mall reopened around 6 p.m. after police determined there was no bomb.

Willow Drive at U.S. 15/501 and Estes Drive at Fordham Boulevard were blocked to traffic for more than an hour.
