DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police arrested an 18-year-old Chapel Hill man Wednesday and charged him with murder in the shooting death of Jonathan Royster, who was also 18.

Officers arrested Jaron Webb, of Jackie Robinson Street, at Durham Police Headquarters.

Investigators said the shooting does not appear to be random. They have not released a motive in the case.

Officers responded to a call about a disturbance with a weapon near the intersection of Allgood Street and Belvin Avenue in Durham shortly before 2 p.m. on Dec. 28.

When they arrived, they found Royster, of Piper Street, lying in the street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
