Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the Triangle

— Cinco de Mayo is measured in number of margaritas drank and how much queso is consumed...not in caloric intake. With this in mind, I am going to share with you some of my personal TOP spots to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year! These local gems are also a great place to satisfy your Mexican craving any day of the year.

In Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of an unlikely battle that was won over the French. It’s interesting to note that although the day is celebrated, it is not a federal holiday in Mexico.

In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican culture!

Here are my favorite places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the Triangle:

We start off with the amazing combination of Centro and Gallo Pelón! Both spots are located at 106 S Wilmington St. in downtown Raleigh, Although they share an owner, each location is very different.

It’s interesting to note that $1 of every Margarita sale at Centro and Gallo Pelón on Cinco de Mayo goes to support NC Equality! Celebrating for a good cause!
