Cary outlines town manager search

Posted November 12, 2008

— The Town of Cary will cast a wide net to seek a new town manager.

The Town Council has hired a Georgia-based search firm to identify candidates. A local consultant will then vet those selections. The process is expected to cost $35,000.

Assistant Town Manager Ben Shivar is serving as interim town manager since the October retirement of Bill Coleman, who held the position for 14 years.

What a waste of taxpayer money. The best person for the job, Ben Shivar, is already there.
