CARY, N.C. — A Cary man faces felony charges for child pornography depicting sex crimes and torturous acts against children ranging from 6 months to 6 years old.

Andrew Stephen Lazetera, 27, of 24301 Havers Drive, was charged with 18 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Cary police Capt. Randall Rhyne said Tuesday that investigators received a cyber-tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and that Lazetera surrendered on Monday.

He remained in the Wake County Detention Center under a $1 million bond Tuesday night after a Wake County District Court judge refused to lower it.

Lazetera has retained a private attorney, Rosemary Godwin, who could not be reached for comment Tuesday afternoon.
